31215a - Progress challenge 04

Reviewing your presentation

This challenge will help you to review the portfolio you have created to assist you in making improved work in the future.

Address the following points in a short report:
1.    List your original objectives for your portfolio and write a short evaluation for each regarding how successfully you believe your work answered them. You may like to put a star rating for each.
2.    Considering your answer to the previous question, list the steps you will need to take to address any of the elements you believe were less successful than you would have liked them to be.
3.    Through your experience with creating and reviewing your portfolio, write a short response proposing any systems you would like to put in place to help you identify and respond to any future opportunities for presentation challenges. Make sure this proposal is easily worked into your everyday life; consider the tables detailing your budget, workflow and timeline.

TIP: Navigate to the student forum to engage in the discussion with your peers

SELF-CHECK Submission B

Now that you have completed the Progress challenge, you may submit your work for feedback and discussion.

Instructions

• Write 300 words and complete as a PDF.
• Navigate to the self-check page to submit.

TIP: If you choose to complete each progress challenge as you work through the module, the process of completing your assessment tasks will take a lot less time.

Answer

Part A

The purpose of this presentation is to educate people on the original meaning of the swastika, before World War II.  I uploaded the presentation to both YouTube and to SlideShare (LinkedIn); and shared them to the Open Colleges Forum, to Blogger, to Pinterest and to Facebook.

I believe I have accomplished these tasks in a satisfactory and timely matter.  However, I can only glean from the numbers of Likes on Facebook, for instance, or the numbers of people who may have looked at these works via Facebook, LinkedIn or SlideShare.  This is where analytics come in handy, especially with LinkedIn.

Judging by the number of views, I do know that my presentation and the headline ‘we are all Nazis’ in the shape of a swastika are bound to attract attention from online viewers.

Part B

After accomplishing the tasks and ticking them off my list, a matter of time as to when I get feedback from others.

One way to save waiting time is to ask people directly what they think or administer an online survey (via a Word document or through Survey Monkey).  Chances are it is a Likert Style survey, with some demographic data.  Like the analytics, this would help me figure out who is likely pay attention and to what.

Part C

I believe I have worked within the time constraints (in my case, 2-3 weeks) – the only things delaying the project would be personal emergencies, health issues, and days when I would be busy at work.

I have also remained within the financial constraints, with the project costing me no more than my tuition costs.
