TGIF: Good Friday

Things I would see at the Easter Show

Gonks: there were many different toys, often these would be won from games and stuff.  The gonks were one such example.  Or you would buy them from school fetes (or win them as prizes in games).  I remember owning a green one like the one on the right.

Click-clacks: these were available through the show bags (probably the Cadbury show bags, if my memory serves me correctly)?

This has nothing to do with the Easter Show itself and more to do with Jesus dying on the Cross for our 'sins'.  However, the success of any public event depends upon the patience and kindness of everyone at these events.

Especially so when there's a staff shortage and the few people that turn up to work have to 'carry the load' so everyone else can have fun.

This includes people who perform essential services - especially those who perform emergency services - like police, ambulance and fire services.  Or people who have to work nights and weekends - like retail staff and Postal workers (like myself).

We are the ones who have to do things and work when others don't have to.  So, patience and common courtesy go a long way when you're tired and cranky and don't feel like serving the public.

Anyhoo, it's Good Friday, and Easter is coming.  Happy Easter to everyone and if you're working, don't wear yourselves out.  If you're not working, be kind to each other, and to the people that have to work.

That's it - peace out and Happy Easter.  ✌
