Overall Feedback:
Part A - Formalizing the design brief - You have done well with identifying each element of the project. You have done a good job by sectioning each piece of the brief so it is clear to the audience. The project Goals are clear, and it is evident you have understood the brief requirements in regards to the technical aspects. with the technical information. The images that represent the stories really made an impact and tied together your explanation of them.Part B - Design exploration and mock ups - A good effort with the illustrations and the visuals that allow the audience to gain an insight into the look and feel that you are going for.
Part C - Implementation and Manipulation - Well done with the written report. You have clearly identified the work safety practices. It You have explored with colour, various line work and positive and negative space - this is great. You have explored with colour, various line work and positive and negative space - this is great. Elements like that allow you to explore the various themes and approaches that you can put to the designs. It will allow you to develop varied approaches which lets you explore the design brief further.
Part D - Technical Report - A good effort with this element of the assessment. You have done well in developing the technical report and how it is your designs are going to comply and address all required elements. It is great that you have explored the vector vs pixel based images. The resolution of the images between web and print are really important parts as well as the colour mode. You have shown a solid understanding of the file formats and what will work.
Part E - Critique and Feedback - It is good that you have used the feedback received from peers to refine the designs. It was really great to read tat you enjoyed experimenting with the image trace tool and various gradients - it can definitely change the final results.
Part F - Design Delivery - The final pieces - poster ans book cover that you have developed show a lot of thought and process to them. The Prodigal Son - There is a real distinctive style to this illustration which really encompasses the emotion behind the story.
I would recommend next time considering to bring the opacity up a little, the colours should be more vibrant. Once again, the illustration for The Legend of the Boy and the Eagle is really engaging, and the whole composition of the book is well balanced and works well. The background of the image looks great, it is really engaging.
Overall you have made a really solid effort with this assessment and met all requirements in order to pass. There is one consideration that you need to have. The background that you have applied to the whole assessment makes it really difficult to read. Legibility is really important, and consider that when you present it could be to a client so you want to ensure maximum clarity for the whole project. Keep this in mind for all projects and client presentations moving forward.
