Fractals are weird: Mandelbrots and Mandelboxes
Wee hours of Saturday morning.
Was watching videos of fractals on my phone and took the screenshot below. After looking at the first video of a Mandelbrot, I looked at the thumbnail of the one below of a Mandelbox (3D Mandelbrot).
Because the first one showed the camera zooming into the Mandelbrot at high speed, my eyes grew accustomed to viewing that. So when I took my eyes off the Mandelbrot video, I felt like the camera was zooming out from the Mandelbox, even though the 2nd image was stationary.
How weird is that when you experience optical illusions like this???
