One of my favourite social (and right wing) commentators, Paul Joseph Watson, expresses his concern for the likely effects of Article 13 (with the banning of certain memes as 'hate speech').
Apparently, it is done through 'algorithms' that allow fewer views of memes that people don't like, it also affects artists who might express particular viewpoints not quite in line with 'The Establishment' or 'Status Quo'.
Would this mean that my 'Isn't it Wonderful?' character, Graham, the 'Gay Boy' Thompson, will not be noticed, just in case it 'offends' someone? Especially since his weird sense of humour (which was taken in its context at the time) was astonishingly like that of Milo Yiannopoulis's right now?
Or will it mean I will be 'doxxed' like some people already are?
The mind boggles!!!!
(no) cheers,
Night Owl
Of course, they can always retreat to their 'safe spaces' and not look at things that might 'offend' them!!!! |
