31215a - Progress challenge 03
Creating your presentation
In this progress challenge, you
will assemble all the knowledge gained through your research and create an
online portfolio of your work. Remember to provide a URL for your portfolio for
your trainer to view.
Begin by selecting your best
original graphic design work that you have created throughout this unit (or
older work created before beginning this course) that you believe is relevant
to the kind of industry that you would like to work within in the future.
Remember only to choose your
strongest images, as any ‘filler’ could risk your potential client/boss closing
your portfolio. It is much better to present a smaller portfolio full of strong
images than a larger portfolio that could dilute your strengths. It is great to
have a diverse portfolio, but try to stick to one theme of work that is
supported by your presentation choices.
Are there any elements of
your presentation that you have borrowed from other designers? Remember the
difference between appropriation and plagiarism, and detail how you have
obtained and recorded any copyright clearance you may need for any portion of
your portfolio.
Now it is finally time to
put all the elements of your work together to create your portfolio. For the
purpose of this assignment, we require you to create your portfolio through an
online platform.
You may choose to use any of
the platforms listed, such as FolioHD and Word press, or something different.
Explore each platform first and be aware that they may take differing amounts
of time to set up.
Track your work progress
throughout the creation of your portfolio. How quickly did you work? What was
the cost of creating this work? Reflect on these findings and create three new
tables that represent a realistic budget, timeline and workflow plan.
TIP: Navigate to the student
forum to engage in the discussion with your peers.
Now that you have completed the
Progress challenge, you may submit your work for feedback and discussion.
Instructions
• Write 400 words and complete
as a PDF.
• Navigate to the self-check
page to submit.
TIP: If you choose to complete
each progress challenge as you work through the module, the process of
completing your assessment tasks will take a lot less time.
