What a relief!!!

Dear Sedgie Art fans,

You will be all pleased to know that I finally got a course extension on the 50311 CUV Diploma of Graphic Design until the 14th of July.

I have been granted this on the condition that I complete the course before then.

All I need to do is complete Modules 1 and 2 of Study Period 7 and I will be done.  I am currently up to 30537a: Module One - Professional Practice.  This course encompasses the following:-
  • In this module, you’ll learn about what is expected of you and your work in a professional setting.
  • You will work towards completing assessments, including a portfolio and a quiz.
  • Get started now.
After July 2017, this will happen:
Hi Colleen,
We have some news to share with you. The Australian government has endorsed changes to qualifications in your field.
What does this mean for you?
This should have no impact on you. However, it does limit us in terms of the extensions we can grant you if you need more time to finish your studies. Under Australian Government regulations, you’ll need to complete your course - CUV 50311 Diploma of Graphic Design - on or before 14th July 2017, and we are not allowed to give any extensions beyond that date.
This should be enough time in your case, and our team are here to help, so if you need assistance with study planning or assessments-just reach out to our student support team or your trainer and we can provide advice and guidance. Reply to this email or contact our Transition Support Team on 1300 289 858, 9am to 5pm on weekdays.
Most importantly, your current course is industry endorsed and nationally recognised, so there is no need to worry about the validity of your qualification.
What’s the background to the change?
Nationally recognised qualifications, like yours, are based on Training Packages. Training Packages are not courses – they describe the skills and knowledge that students need to learn for particular industries and jobs. All colleges must use these Training Packages as the basis for the courses they develop. And when they change, we also redevelop our courses. The Creative Arts and Culture Training Package changed, so all colleges are redesigning their courses in this field.
Open Colleges services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If you feel that in your circumstances these guarantees have been affected or you are otherwise disadvantaged by this change, please refer to the terms and conditions of your Student Agreement and Open Colleges’ Cancellation and Refund Policy and Procedure (PR10.1).
Nationally recognised Certification for the CUV50311 Diploma of Graphic Design is issued by TAFE NSW - North Coast Institute (provider no: 90010) in partnership with Open Colleges Pty Ltd (provider no: 90796).
Kind regards,
Peter de Deckker, Head of Portfolio

So you can see why I am very keen to get on with doing this.
cheers,
Colleen
