Assessment Feedback / Assessment #30531/02
Overall Assessment - Outstanding
Overall Feedback:
- You have picked a great topic for research and applied your knowledge successfully to your design and brief. Your research is excellent.
- You have explained this important design period in easy to understand language which shows that you yourself truly understand the topic.
- Well done analysing the Australia Post logo in terms of its history and the application of design principles founded by the Swiss movement.
- You have responded well to feedback on your design and the final version looks a lot more like a classic example of Swiss design as well as being more in line with the strong branding of Australia Post.
- You have used appropriate fonts, colour combinations, grid and improved the balance of negative space and alignment but I think these areas can still be improved. For example, the logos in the bottom left corner would look better if they were side by side in a line rather than stacked on top of each other.
- Try to keep the clear space around objects consistent, ie the negative space around the heading We Love Delivering and the paragraphs below should be consistent to the left, right, above and below.
- Overall, this is an excellent interpretation of the movement.
- Well done addressing business practices such as marketing and intellectual property.
- Commentary on the development and critique of your design shows understanding of the principles of the design movement in practice.
- Final report shows how previous research informed the process of creating the advertisement including connections and associations between history, theory and contemporary practice.
