Proofing

This progress challenge requires you to provide visual and written evidence of the proofing stage of your 2-D and 3-D based project. This includes submitting the following:
1. In a single page of your portfolio document, add an exported image or scan of the final proof you created for your 2-D (print) based artwork.
2. A brief report explaining the proofing technique or process you used for your 2-d based design to visualise what it may look like when printed.

Answer

For 2D items

While I may email or upload the images (online) via RGB format, ultimately, they will be printed in CYMK or spot-printed format.  This will have to be specified to the printer I will be sending it to.
For instance, I will be sending my stationery set to Vistaprint[1].  Acceptable file formats for this company include:
*       Adobe Acrobat 9 Document (*.pdf) (recommended)
*       Adobe Illustrator CS3 Artwork (*.ai) (recommended)
*       Adobe Photoshop CS3 Image (*.psd) (recommended)
*       Bitmap Image (*.bmp)

*       JPEG Image (*.jpg,*.jpeg)
*       Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 Document (*.ppt)

For bleed size (on A4 documents): the format is as follows:
*       213 x 300 mm

For business cards, this is Full Bleed Size
*       94 x 58 mm
1110 x 685 pixels
Document Trim Size
*       91 x 55 mm
1075 x 650 pixels
For envelopes, this is:

For 3D items

My 3D items (door sign, window sign, cladding and picture) are a different story.  Chances are I will be sending them to Skope group or Kwik Copy[2].  I understand that Kwik Copy wants images with a resolution of at least 300 dpi (dots per inch)[3].
